In the News - August Press Releases
A Sea of Learning opened in 2007 in Renaissance Center across from Southpoint. We love working with schools and parents of Durham. We thought that adding a 2nd location in Northgate Mall would add convenience to the schools and community of that area.
We specialize in creative ways to educate children and decorate classrooms! We believe children learn by doing , so our learning “toys” require using your imagination and creative play. For use in school, or at home, we have a large selection of art materials, easels, creative play, puzzles, games, science kits, blocks, crafts, activity books, toys for babies and toddlers, and more!
Parents who want to work with their children at home will love our materials and the helpful suggestions our experienced staff can offer.
Teachers will find a great selection of resource books, classroom decorations, plan books, stickers, ….everything for classroom use. What we don’t have in the store can be ordered from our on line catalog….www.aseaoflearning.com.
(In the near future, like our Southpoint location, we will be offering both “Storytime” which we call “FISH-TALES” , as well as an individualized tutoring program.)
A Sea of Learning originated out of Morehead City (thus the name) where the owners also operate a store there called Teacher’s Pet. That store has now been in business for 21 years. The idea to expand to Durham came from the many request of the tourist visiting the coast.
We welcome both parents and teachers and look forward to serving them at Northgate Mall!
In the News - July Press Releases
Northgate is very excited about our new Café which will open sometime around the first of August. It is an interesting story with more details yet to come:
Steve Elliot, owner and operator of Northgate Books (which just opened this summer), is now leasing the former Blue Coffee Too space in the mall. He is completely renovating the space and expanding the seating capacity. “The Sweet Tea Café” is the new name and he intends to carry fresh produce from the Farmer’s Market, the best sweet tea in N.C., quiche, sandwiches, dessert and fresh fruit. It will have a “southern” slant to it and he has lots of transformational ideas both for the physical restaurant as well as unique marketing and promotional endeavors. Speak to Steve at a later date for more news but for now, we are all very excited about this new addition to the Northgate Family. For more information, contact Steve Elliot at sde925@yahoo.com
Alexander’s (SINGER) will be adding a CPU (Customer Postal Unit) in their store in July.
Greek Cuisine is double the current square footage and moving to a new location within the Food Gallery at Northgate.
Tomo Japan will be opening in July featuring Japanese cuisine cooking on the front counter.
Cute as a Button is a new kiosk at Northgate located near the Food Gallery and featuring baby apparel and accessories.
