Durham Arts Council Clay Studio

The Durham Arts Council, Inc. (DAC) School is a vibrant community education program for visual and performing arts which provides over 700 courses each year to more than 3,400 adults, teens and children in drawing and painting, dance, clay, sculpture, theatre, photography, digital arts, writing, fiber arts and more.

The DAC Clay program operates out of the DAC Clay Studio located at Northgate. DAC was pleased to relocate the Clay Studio to Northgate, opening there in the winter of 2011. This 2,500 square foot ceramics facility contains expanded ceramics production space, two high-fire kilns, ample display and storage areas, and a beautiful new DAC Ceramics Gallery that will showcases and sells exemplary ceramics artwork of teaching artists. DAC continues to provide high quality wheel and hand building classes for adult students. In the new Northgate facility DAC has expanded programming to offer classes, workshops and birthday parties for families and children.
