Due to COVID-19, this event has been cancelled.

April is Poetry Month! It’s also time to start planting your garden! Stop by the Friends of the Durham Library’s big book sale on April 4 – 5 at Books Among Friends to find what you need (and maybe even some cool surprise discoveries!).

Book sale proceeds go to the Friends of the Durham Library, a 36-year-old nonprofit that helps Durham County Library fund programs, services, and materials. Its storefront shop, Books Among Friends, is inside Northgate in Suite 252. Enter the mall at entrance 8 near Foot Locker, turn left, and head down to the last storefront on the left before you reach the former Sears.

Bag Sale – Open to the Public: 1 – 4 p.m.
The second day of our book sale is Bag Sale Day, when you can fill a shopping bag full of books for just $10. You know it, you love it, and this year it’s even better with our new bulk discount. When you buy more than five bags, additional bags are only $5 each. So, the first five bags are $10 each, and every bag after that is just $5. Bag number six is $5. Bag number seven is $5. Number eight? Also just $5! The more you buy, the more you save. Come to the Bag Sale and get all the books you want at a bargain price while supporting the fine work of the Friends of the Durham Library. Plus, items amounting to less than a half-bag are half their original prices. Fill as many bags as you want!
