Roots Farmers’ Market
Join us this Saturday for a FREE Yoga class from 10am to 11am – all you have to do is bring your own mat! Come on by and do some yoga, grab some farm fresh, hurricane-washed produce, and meet some of Durham’s local farmers. See you there!
Chickpea Farm: Lots (and lots) of okra and eggplant, green beans (Jade, Roma, and long beans), eggs, wild muscadine grapes, a few peppers, loofah sponges, and a couple bags of sweet potato greens. Plants: red cedar, black walnut, strawberry bush, butterfly weed, hibiscus, butterfly bush, swamp milkweed, and little baby amaryllis plants!
Dandies Farm: Various Winter Squashes, Muscadine grapes (cultivated bronze) and grape plants, Okra (red and green), Thai Eggplant (round green), Bell Pepper (green and red), Elephant Garlic, tomatoes, arugula, and jalapeños.
The Family Farmstead will be there with a full variety of our 100% pasture grazed beef. We will also have a few dozen eggs from our chickens, who we raise on pasture and supplement their diet with Reedy Fork organically certified feed.
The Microgreenery will be cutting our super nutrient dense microgreens fresh before your very eyes! Spicy salad, arugula, amaranth, purple radish, red mustard, sunflowers, broccoli. We will also have some purple basil plants!!
Toad Hill Farm: Can’t wait to be there with well hydrated beans, pink-eye peas, baby kale, baby mustards, carrots, radishes, eggplants, peppers and a handful of cucumbers and tomatoes. We’ll also have some dried decorative popcorn and a couple of winter squashes!
Please no pets, other than service animals, at the market.
